HELSINKI PART 3, THE CITY
We have been to about 9 different cities and I am pretty sure Helsinki was probably my favorite so far. I am a city girl and Helsinki is not a big city by any means (about 600,000 people) it was clean, had amazing transportation, everything that a person could need was in walking distance, art museums, beautiful design, great shopping, and easily accessible produce.
Now, I say all of these things about Helsinki but it was also the most expensive city I have ever been in. A meal probably averaged 17-30 Euros... We are used to seeing homeless people or beggars in most cities and I noticed that the streets did not have this. We found out that there is a law against begging for money in the streets so this is why homeless people seemed to be obsolete. It is how we pictured a Northern European country to be. Clean, sea air, blue eyed blonde people, fresh food, and a lot of historical architecture.
