Belgrade has been great so far. Every time we go out I think we get surprised in some way. For example, realizing the girl standing next to you looks in the 26-28 range and she tells you she's 20. Then you feel either a) old or b) you don't know how to feel because you are older but know that you look 18. Of course we are still getting used to the fact that people don't go out here until around midnight. Even on a Tuesday or Wednesday it is crowded! It really is the city that never sleeps. I look around when we go out and think– don't these people have work in the morning? They stay out until the sun rises. Tanja and I are leaving and people are just arriving to the clubs. We keep saying we need to drink energy drinks so that maybe one night we will actually be able to stay out like a Serbian... we always joke and say we look young and act old. Meaning, most people think we are 18 maybe 20, but we do not have the energy to stay out as late as everyone else!
We went to a "BBQ" with some friends as well. It was in a beautiful park/forest! I think the only thing that was missing was the BBQ sauce... so maybe we would just call that grilling out. We ate grilled chicken, cevapi, and vegetables. Most of the meats here are always put on bread. And not the loaf kind we have that somehow lasts 2 two weeks. A good sour dough or richer bread. (I have no idea what it would actually be called) They put mayonnaise and ketchup on everything too which is not really my preference but they love their mayonnaise!
